Anti Human Trafficking & Social Issues
If you or someone you know is in danger
Our Anti Human Trafficking & Social Issues Department works on trafficking, bonded and child labour, missing persons, domestic violence, child marriage and related harms. It works with the police, shelters, legal aid and government schemes on behalf of the people it supports.
If someone is in immediate danger, call 112 (police) or the national anti-trafficking helpline 1098 for children, as well as our office.
What the department does
- Rescue support, and accompanying survivors through the police process
- Legal aid, and referral to our Advocacy Branch for representation
- Shelter, medical care and counselling through partner organisations
- Help claiming compensation and government support schemes
- Rehabilitation — schooling, skills training and a route to a livelihood
- Community awareness so families can recognise trafficking before it happens
How to reach the department
By telephone, or by coming to any of our offices. There is deliberately no online form for this department, and no case can be opened through this website — these cases are taken by a person, in confidence.
What happens to what you tell us
A case is recorded by a member of staff and is readable only by the officers handling it. It is never published, never shown on the public site, and every time it is opened that access is logged. If the person at risk is a child, the case is handled under the additional protections the law requires.
